National American Miss Open Calls!

In the mail, I received an Open Call Invitation from a pageant system called National American Miss. I was interested, and so I went to the Open Call today. It was at a Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA, about 45 minutes away from my house. I pre-registered, like the letter said, and we met in the ballroom, and about 100 girls who received Open Call Invitations were there. They gave me an interview, also. Basically, it was an information meeting for those who were interested. We received at lot of helpful information. They also handed out a magazine, and a sheet of paper telling what would happen in the future, and a DVD about the experience.
National American Miss is a pageant system that believes confidence comes before looks. It costs about $500 to register, and formal ball gown and business suit needs to be bought separately. My parents and I will talk about wether this is a good idea or not, because you have to be in the NAM system until you turn an adult, which is a long time. So we'll work it out. To find about more about this organization, visit www.namiss.com!

Random Questions #3

Random Question:

What is the last television show you watched?

My answer:

Believe it or not, Caillou. :(    But the show I watched right before that was more reasonable. It was KC Undercover, the new Disney Channel series. It's really good! If you have Disney Channel or On Demand, I suggest you watch it. :)

What's your answer to this random question?

Happy February!

Happy February all you gals!! Be sure to think of the people you love, and give them a little something! It could be a hug, a kiss, a sweet little note, or anything decent you can think of!

And remember not to love ONLY in February or on Valentine's Day. Love EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Superbowl XLIX Update

Did you watch Superbowl XLIX (49)? Well, I watched most of it! Which team did you want to win? Seattle Seahawks or New England Patriots? To be honest, I'm not a football person, so I didn't care which one won. But my mom wanted Seattle to win. But that didn't happen. I just watched the game for the CRAZY yet HILARIOUS commercials and the halftime show.

We will do a survey of who wanted which team to win! Fun, right? So tell ALL football fans you know and tell them to email me at newladybug@outlook.com to give me who they chose! Thanks a lot, people! Bye! For now.....................

Please Note: You can have boys answer the survey, too. Just wanted to make that clear!

Book Sneak Peek!!!!

Hey, gals!!! Sorry I haven't been posting in a while. I have been busy with school and getting ready for Christmas.
Here is a sneak peek of a book I'm starting on. It's called Just Smile
So, here's the sneak peek!:

Just Smile
                        By Natalie Wheeling
Saturday, December 23rd           Family Room/11:08 am
Smile. That’s what people say that I should do, no matter what happens. But I’m not sure. Suppose someone really special in the family dies. It won’t help if I smile. It’ll be hard to smile. Why smile if you can just cry?
And I don’t like the look of my braces. Well, they look fine, but the color is hideous compared to the clothes I wear. It would be nice if I could be like my friend, Kevin, who changes his braces color every month. It’s December, so he wears red-and-green rubber bands for Christmas. They look great on him no matter what color clothes he wears. Maybe it’s because he teeth are pretty large, or the braces look pretty small on his teeth.
So, I, Avery McGuffin, shall convince my mom to let me change the color of my braces. She’s at the coffee shop, so I’ll have to text her.
Me: Hey, Mom. Can you do me a favor?
Mom: Sure, honey. How can I help you?
Me: I want, or I NEED to change the color of my braces. I want them to look good on me.
Mom: Does my little Avery want to change the color of her braces so she can impress a boy?
Me: No! Well, yes, kind of. Kevin is my best friend and my best friend only. I’m not doing it to impress him, I just want to flow with his theory of braces and rubber bands and stuff.
Mom: Well, I’ll see what I can do about that. But for now, I need to take care of some Christmas shopping.
Me: OK, Mom. See ya later! Bye!
Mom: Bye, sweetie.
That went better than I expected!! I was expecting for her to say something about “not having enough money”. And I've noticed that she’s been happier lately. Maybe she just has the Christmas spirit.
I’ll start on my Christmas list. Mom says to email it to her phone so she has an idea of what I want. I type out the list and send it to Mom.

From: Avery
Hey, Mom! This is a list of things that Riley and I want for Christmas.
                                                                                     Riley:
·         Wildlife Adventure Man
·         Pet Tornado Set
·         Car Track Set
·         Wooden Train Track
·         Pirate Outfit
·         He says to surprise him with something special (whatever he means by that!)
                                                                                     Avery (me)
·         Pink rhinestone studded microphone
·         Pink basketball
·         18” doll.
·         Cotton Candy Maker

Riley keeps bothering me about Santa Claus. Mom confessed to me that he wasn’t real, and I accepted it. But Riley can’t accept it yet. Mom and I keep telling him that Santa isn’t real, but he says that we’ll be on the “Naughty List” if we don’t believe. Who cares about the naughty list? If he can see you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake, people are pretty much telling you that Santa Claus is a creepy stalker. Well, I’ll have to stop with this journal entry for now because:

     I’m expected to WATCH Riley!!!
Saturday, December 23                My Room/ 12:45

Yes! Mom’s finally back from the coffee shop and Christmas shopping! It’s pretty peaceful because Riley is taking a nap. He’s only four, you know. I helped Mom organize the presents under the tree. It looks like a lot, but I know that Grammy and Grandpa are coming! And they usually give is a TON of gifts. So I know that tomorrow, (which is Christmas Eve) the tree is going to have too much gifts to give “shelter” to!
Before my dad went overseas, he used to tell us that Christmas is about giving and spending time with family. I believe him. He said he might be home for Christmas, but with his broken leg and everything, I want him to stay and not have any difficulties getting to the airport and everything.
I’m really bored and I want to go to Kevin’s house. Kevin and his twin, Kenneth, are so fun! I’ll text Kevin to see if he’s free for the next hour or so.
Me: Hey, Kevin! What’s up?
Kevin: Hey, Avery! I’m just getting a little fresh air. Kenneth and I are about to take my cousin, Aria, to the park. Does U want 2 come?
Me: Sure, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.

My Books

Did you know that I write books? It's true! I work at many at a time. Here are some titles you might want to look out for in the next year or so!

Seven Heroic Tweens

Seven tween best friends,Tori, Aaron, Bethani, Carlton, Haleigh-Ann, Branden, and Skylar recite that one spell. Before they know it, they are heroes that has what it takes to protect the city of New Orleans. Can they use teamwork to fight the forces of evil? Or will they chicken out and go home? Read the book and you'll find out.

Before Common Concentration

Savannah Martin loves school. She cooperates with the teacher, gets good grades, and she makes the honor roll. But there is one problem. She cannot concentrate. She thinks about boys, future, fashion, music, eating, writing; you name it!! When the school bully figures out her problem, Savannah gets crushed by cruel actions and words. In the end, Dr. Millie finds out that Savannah has ADHD.  Savannah needs to do her best to focus even though she has ADHD.

Deep in the Tropical Jungles

12-year-old Blythe Taylor and her brother, Jordan, fell overboard on a trip to South America by boat. They wash up on the beaches of Barbados, and they stay with the Smith family, one of Dad's business friends. At the beach, they find Annaya, a nine year old genius who was kidnapped. In the middle of the night, they set out to reunite Annaya and Blythe's families together. Blythe learns about true friendship and love along the way.

Alexis Starr: The new star in Town

11-year-old Alexis wins an audition for a movie. In fact, her whole family does! They fly from Miami to Hollywood for the movie. But the Starr family didn't know it was a teen/young adult movie. They thought it was a family movie! Some scenes and language are inappropriate, and the Starr family wants the writer to change the script to something appropriate that the whole family could act in. But the writer refuses. Alexis needs to find a way to stand up for what's right. Alexis and her new friend, Emma, start a protest and goes out to the writer fearlessly.
Special Effects
Samantha Schneider breaks her leg by accident. It is so severe, that it would have to get cut off. She needs to get prosthetic care done to her leg. This crushes Samantha because she is an athlete, 24/7, and needs to exercise by running. By getting therapy and care, Samantha may be able to run again with prosthetics.

The Adventures of Georgia: Birthday Bash

Get ready for mischief and fun with Georgia McKinney and her family! In this book, Georgia and her twin sister, Gabby, have a birthday party! They invite cousins and friends, and they have so much fun! In the back, there are some fun party tips that may help you plan and throw an amazing party.

Random Questions #2

I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a while!! I get busy with middle school and stuff, if you know what I mean :-) Anyways, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, or Turkey Day as my grandma calls it.

Now, here is Random Question #2:

Do people really slip on banana peels?

My answer:

I don't think so, because banana peels aren't really that slippery, and most things that happen in cartoons normally don't happen with humans. That's just what I think about this question. And remember, I make these questions up out of nowhere, so don't judge me if I come up with something weird or insane.

Read the question carefully, and then type your answer in the comments. Thanks!
