Hey, gals!!! Sorry I haven't been posting in a while. I have been busy with school and getting ready for Christmas.
Here is a sneak peek of a book I'm starting on. It's called
Just Smile
So, here's the sneak peek!:

December 23rd Family
Room/11:08 am
Smile. That’s what
people say that I should do, no matter what happens. But I’m not sure. Suppose
someone really special in the family dies. It won’t help if I smile. It’ll be
hard to smile. Why smile if you can just cry?
And I don’t
like the look of my braces. Well, they look fine, but the color is hideous compared
to the clothes I wear. It would be nice if I could be like my friend, Kevin,
who changes his braces color every month. It’s December, so he wears
red-and-green rubber bands for Christmas. They look great on him no matter what
color clothes he wears. Maybe it’s because he teeth are pretty large, or the
braces look pretty small on his teeth.
So, I, Avery McGuffin, shall convince my mom to let me change the color of my braces. She’s
at the coffee shop, so I’ll have to text her.
Me:
Hey,
Mom. Can you do me a favor?
Mom:
Sure,
honey. How can I help you?
Me:
I
want, or I NEED to change the color of my braces. I want them to look good on
me.
Mom:
Does
my little Avery want to change the color of her braces so she can impress a
boy?
Me:
No! Well, yes, kind of. Kevin is my best friend and my best friend only. I’m
not doing it to impress him, I just want to flow with his theory of braces and
rubber bands and stuff.
Mom:
Well,
I’ll see what I can do about that. But for now, I need to take care of some
Christmas shopping.
Me: OK,
Mom. See ya later! Bye!
Mom:
Bye,
sweetie.
That went
better than I expected!! I was expecting for her to say something about “not
having enough money”. And I've noticed that she’s been happier lately. Maybe
she just has the Christmas spirit.
I’ll start
on my Christmas list. Mom says to email it to her phone so she has an idea of
what I want. I type out the list and send it to Mom.

Riley keeps bothering me
about Santa Claus. Mom confessed to me that he wasn’t real, and I accepted it.
But Riley can’t accept it yet. Mom and I keep telling him that Santa isn’t
real, but he says that we’ll be on the “Naughty List” if we don’t believe. Who
cares about the naughty list? If he can see you when you’re sleeping and knows
when you’re awake, people are pretty much telling you that Santa Claus is a
creepy stalker. Well, I’ll have to stop with this journal entry for now
because:
I’m
expected to WATCH Riley!!!
Saturday, December 23 My Room/ 12:45
Yes! Mom’s finally back
from the coffee shop and Christmas shopping! It’s pretty peaceful because Riley
is taking a nap. He’s only four, you know. I helped Mom organize the presents
under the tree. It looks like a lot, but I know that Grammy and Grandpa are
coming! And they usually give is a TON of gifts. So I know that tomorrow,
(which is Christmas Eve) the tree is going to have too much gifts to give
“shelter” to!
Before my dad went overseas, he used to
tell us that Christmas is about giving and spending time with family. I believe
him. He said he might be home for Christmas, but with his broken leg and
everything, I want him to stay and not have any difficulties getting to the
airport and everything.
I’m really bored and I want to
go to Kevin’s house. Kevin and his twin, Kenneth, are so fun! I’ll text Kevin
to see if he’s free for the next hour or so.
Me:
Hey,
Kevin! What’s up?
Kevin:
Hey,
Avery! I’m just getting a little fresh air. Kenneth and I are about to take my
cousin, Aria, to the park. Does U want 2 come?
Me:
Sure,
I’ll be there in 10 minutes.
